2023 Gravy Print Swap
How it Works:
Give a print, Get a print! Register for the 2023 Gravy Print Swap through Gravy’s website form below; enter your information, a short artist statement, and up to 5 images of prints you want to swap. Our friends at The Halide Project will be hosting the swap in their space located at (1627 N. 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19122) on Saturday, March 25th starting at 4pm. We will also be curating a zine that includes one selected image curated by Gravy members from every participating photographers who submit their work in advance. Walkups are also welcome.
Cost:
FREE! This year, the print swap is in person and funded by the 20/20 Photo Festival. The festival is collaborating once again with the Halide Project and Gravy Studio to present a day of free and open-to-the-public photography demonstrations and a print swap. Come to the Halide Project earlier in the day to watch artists work at their craft from 11-4pm (and maybe even try your hand at some processes.) From 4-5pm, we invite everyone to join the print swap. We will supply drinks, envelopes for your prints, and everyone who submitted work by March 5th is guaranteed to receive a zine to take home.
Swap Guidelines:
Photographs should be printed on 8.5x11” sized paper or smaller. Darkroom, digital, Polaroids, alternative prints are all welcome! We suggest bringing 10-15 photos to swap with other photographers. There’s no specific theme, or style - as long as it’s your own original work that connects back to the medium of photography. We strongly recommended that you package each image individually in a plastic sleeve and include your business card or contact info so that the person who receives your work can look you up.
